At Family in New York, private New York tours are our core business. Our private tours of New York are highly personalized, based on your schedule, pace and the sights you want to see. We do not impose our schedule on you. We do not impose a pre-established "one size fits all" itinerary on you. On our private New York City tours, we do not drop you on your own at sights around the city or make you wait until the next tour bus comes. We do not drop you off with a whole bus load of other tourists and require you to wander through the crowded New York City streets and tour sights following a guide with an umbrella extended in the air. On our private tours of New York, there is no time wasted waiting for the next bus and no risk of following the wrong umbrella! On our private New York tours, you do not struggle with a whole crowd of other tourists competing for the guide's attention or to ask the guide questions.
Your personal and private New York City tour with us will be focused solely on you, and your wishes, needs and desires. Your personal and private New York tour will be custom designed just for you and in consultation with you. Family History - Cousin Scott, our CFO (Chief Family Officer), has always been proud of the city his family immigrated to in 1887. Over the years, he would take great pleasure in showing out-of-town guests and business colleagues both the well-known and off-the-beaten-path sights of the city.
In his previous career as a health care professional, Cousin Scott worked in two areas heavily visited by tourists – Madison Square Park (Flat Iron Building) and Herald Square (Empire State Building / Macy's). He would watch the New York City tour buses in operation and think, “What a horrible way to see the city." So, he got his Sightseeing Guide License and began providing private New York City tours just on the weekends. It started out more as a hobby. Well word of his private New York City tours spread and the hobby grew into a business. Who We Are - Family in New York is not part of a large corporation with operations (or headquarters) in other cities of the United States or around the world. We do not have a big corporate structure with a board of directors and stock holders whom we are required to please first, before our customers. We don't even have any bus mechanics. We are not out-of-work actors, dancers or musicians who are in New York hoping to be discovered. We are not trying to fit tours in between auditions or until we land our preferred job.
Who are we? We are a proud "mom and pop" operation, six of us now, offering private New York tours. We are established New Yorkers with roots that run deep in this city. We do this job by choice, not because we couldn't find something else to do. This is our chosen profession. And, we love it! Who we have become - At the urging of our tour customers over the years, we began offering other services. Family in New York now offers transportation, hotel booking, and theater/sporting event tickets. We have become a "one stop shop" travel boutique for weekend, vacation and holiday visits to New York.
If you are coming to New York City, let us know and we will put the whole package together for you. You don't have to waste your time doing research, taking any gambles or organizing your stay based on the advice of an acquaintance who was here for two days, three years ago. We live here, work here and play here - everyday. We know the city. We know what changed yesterday, what is changing today and what is scheduled to change tomorrow. We would love to put our knowledge, experience and expertise to work for you.

Camp Hidden Valley serves girls and boys with and without special needs, ages eight to 12. At this unique camp, children with and without disabilities live and play together and find out how much they have in common. Some of the special needs of campers include sickle-cell anemia, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, hearing impairments and physical disabilities that require the use of wheelchairs, braces or crutches. Camp activities include art, hiking, nature and creative writing. The specially- designed pool complex is enjoyed by all campers, including children who use wheelchairs, braces or other forms of assistance.
